Damascus, SANA – More than 100,000 students started on Sunday their second session of final exams for the scientific, literary, Sharia, and vocational branches of high school certificate for the 2016-2017 school year.
In a press statement during a visit to a number of exam centers in Jaramana area in Damascus Countryside, Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz stressed the ministry’s keenness to follow up on the ongoing examination process, adding that the second session of exams is an opportunity for the students who want to improve their grades or for the students who failed some subjects during the first session of exams so they don’t miss another academic year.
Earlier, the Education Ministry said in a statement that the number of the high school students in all branches reached 101,082 in all provinces, 90,600 of them in the scientific and literary branches, 1,186 in Sharia, and 9,295 in vocational branches.
The Education Ministry released the results of the first session of the high school certificate exams at the beginning of July.
