Damascus, SANA- Public Works and Housing Minister Hussein Arnous discussed Thursday with the Iranian Ambassador to Syria Javad Torkabadi the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the reconstruction phase and the development of joint work in the fields of public works, roads and supporting the housing sector in Syria.
Arnous pointed out to the damage that affected the housing sector in Syria by terrorist attacks, saying “what we need more is supporting specified mechanisms to strengthen the work of companies,” adding that the Ministry seeks to compensate for the lack of mechanisms through loans.
He expressed the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate in the fields of training, planning, and in construction and infrastructure projects with the Iranian companies that come to Syria to invest through the establishment of public or private partnerships.
In turn, the Iranian Ambassador expressed his country’s desire to enhance cooperation with Syria in the housing sector, adding that there are many Iranian companies interested in the establishment and implementation of housing and service projects.
Arnous to Iranian Industrial delegation: Need to further enhancing bilateral cooperation
In the same context, prospects of Syrian-Iranian cooperation were the focal point of talks between Minister Hussein Arnous and a delegation of Iranian industrialists and businessmen.
During the meeting, Arnous stressed the importance of further boosting the economic relations in line with political ties, inviting Iranian companies to participate in the next Damascus International Fair.
The Minister referred to the huge damage that affected the construction sector due to the terrorist war waged on Syria as well as the destruction of the majority of residential buildings and machines.
He expressed his ministry’s desire to cooperate with Iranian companies and exchange expertise whether through making investments or establishing joint ventures.
For his part, Chairman of Esfahan Chamber Of Industry Abdul Wahab Sahl Abadi underlined the Iranian industrialists’ interest in having access to the Syrian market and establishing strong cooperation relations, indicating that there are about 80 thousands industrial factories which compete European industries in terms of quality and the introduction of state-to-art technologies.
