Damascus, SANA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad stressed that Syria is holding intense contacts on the work mechanisms and the situation of de-escalation zones agreed upon in the Astana 4th meeting, adding that Syria is checking every letter in the memorandum and “we will not allow passing anything that could come in the interest of enemies of Syria.”
Mikdad was speaking at a workshop organized by Information Ministry at the building of the Syrian Radio and TV.
He underlined Syria’s readiness to participate in the upcoming rounds of Astana and Geneva talks to be held next month, relying on its commitment to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Mikdad indicated to the high level coordination between Syria and the Russian friends regarding all details to help Syria overcome current difficulties, and highly appreciated the close military, economic, media, political and cultural cooperation between Syria and Iran.
He added that Syria has set up priorities in its war on terrorism which will end with the liberation of all Syrian territories.
Mikdad noted that states which support terrorism in Syria bear the responsibility for the use of chemical weapons by terrorists , adding that Syria has demanded the international community to dispatch an investigation team to reveal the truth starting from Khan al-A’ssal incident in 2013 and reaching Khan Sheikhoun chemical attack.
