Tartous, SANA – The second phase of the competitions of al-Baath Vanguards Organization to select nationwide pioneers kicked off in Tartous with over 186 children from Tartous, Lattakia, Idleb, Hama and Homs participating in music, drama, theatre and fine arts competitions.
Secretary-General of Tartous Branch for al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Ghassan Asaad said the organization has proved its capability to hold such events after a 3-year hiatus.
For his part, head of al-Baath Vanguards Organization Izzat Arabi said the competitions have been the main incubator of children’s talents for decades, expressing appreciation for the commitment of children in their schools despite terrorist attacks that targeted their schools.
Head of the organization’s bureau for arts, theatre and music Hiba Saeed told SANA reporter that 84 children from five provinces are participating in the music and theatre competitions.
In turn, head of the Fine Arts Bureau Haisam Abu Mighdib, said that 102 children are participating in competitions in 16 field of specialties, including drawing, photography, printing, carving, ads designing, mosaic and painting on glass.
Head of Theatre, Fine Arts and Music Bureau at the Tartous Vanguards Organization Issa Aujan said that the hosting province, Tartous, is participating with 56 children, adding that Tartous’ participants are hosting children from other provinces during the time of the event.
