Sweida, Damascus, SANA – Death toll from the terrorist mortar attacks which hit two villages on the borders between the southern provinces of Daraa and Sweida on Saturday has risen to nine civilians, in addition to twenty injured.
A source at Sweida Police Command told SANA reporter that terrorists fired a number of mortar rounds on the villages of Dama and Ereiqa, killing nine citizens and injuring twenty others, some of them in critical condition.
Five civilians, including a woman, were wounded on Thursday in a terrorist attack on a bus they were aboard in Dama village.
In Damascus, a citizen was killed and some 30 others wounded when terrorists fired mortar shells on residential areas in Damascus.
A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that three mortar shells fired by terrorists hit the tennis hall at al-Fayhaa sports city and the entrance of al-Wahda sport club in al-Adawi area, killing a citizen and wounding 22 others, and causing material damage.
The source added that a shell struck into George Khoury Square in al-Abbasyieen area, wounding four citizens and causing material damage.
Another shell fell in the vicinity of the French Hospital in the same area, inflicting material damage.
The source said that two mortar shells struck in Omar bin al-Khattab avenue in al-Mazraa area, wounding a citizen and causing material damage.
Earlier in the day, a shell hit a house in al-Kabbas residential area and left behind massive destruction.
There has been no letup in terrorist attacks with mortars against residential areas in Damascus, taking scores of lives and wounding many others.
