Beirut, SANA – With the participation of more than 200 Syrian clothing companies, the second session of the Syria MOTEX fashion expo kicked off in Beirut.
The exhibition which will be concluded on August18, is organized by the Export Development and Promotion Association and the Syrian Exporters Union.
Head of the Export Development and Promotion Association, Ehab Samandar, told the reporters that the number of participants has quadrupled compared with the last year’s expo, which shows that the Syrian industry is recovering and regaining its momentum.
Samandar said that the Association and the Syrian Exporters Union are the main sponsors of the expo, providing about 50% of the costs of holding the event.
For his part, Head of the Syrian Exporters Union, Mohammad al-Sawwah, said that the union is providing many facilitations for exporters through supporting such events financially and logistically and providing direct connections between manufacturers and potential clients.
He highlighted that the union has invited about 400 potential clients from North Africa, the Gulf States, Iraq and other countries.
Meanwhile, an exhibition for leather products kicked off on the sideline of MOTEX, with Samir al-Shami, head of the Leather Products Committee at the Syrian Exporters Union, saying that the union gives special attention to this sector with the aim of marketing the Syrian leather products and securing new markets.
