Abu Dhabi, SANA – Shadi Issa of Syria’s national weightlifting team won on Wednesday a gold medal at the first edition of the West Asian Para Games that are being held in Sharjah state in the United Arab Emirates.
Issa earned the gold medal in the 80 kg weightlifting event.
This is Syria’s forth medal earned at the Games after another gold medal, a silver and a bronze were won by Noura Baddoura (41 kg event), Fatima Hussein (61 kg event) and Ziad Androun (65 kg event) respectively.
