Damascus, SANA-Vice President Najah al-Attar said Monday what is happening in Gaza is not a conflict between two sides, but “usurpation and an aggression by a side which has no right, no history or belonging.”
“We are the owners of rights, land, history and heritage,” Attar, who inaugurated Exhibition of “Palestine yesterday, today and tomorrow” said, adding that the true understanding of our belonging to our Arabism gives us momentum to defend our lands, rights and families.
The Exhibition, which was opened under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad at al-Assad House for Culture and Arts, displays a group of photographs about al-Quds, the holy mosque of al-Aqsa and the diggings carried out by Zionists under it, in addition to other Palestinian cities like Haifa and Gaza.
Al-Attar affirmed that Syria, under the leadership of President al-Assad, is committed to the Arab rights and principles, calling for cooperating to defeat terrorism to which Syria is exposed.
Later, Dr. al-Attar, accompanied by Assistant Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal and Prime Minister-designate Wael a-Halqi and Palestinian figures, toured the Exhibition and listened to an explanation about the photos.
Al-Halqi, for his part, underlined that the Palestinian cause will remain the central cause and the essence of the Arab-Israeli conflict throughout history.
As for the formation of the new government, al-Halqi said it will be for building, reconstruction and development to meet aspirations of the Syrian people.
Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban stressed that Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip couldn’t achieve its goals, adding that the Palestinian resistanse proved its awareness and vigilance against this aggression.
In a statement on the sideline of the exhibition, shaaban called on the Arabs to support the Palestinian people because they are being targeted by this aggression.
She also called on the US and superpowers to differentiate between terrorism and resistance and the right of peoples to fight occupation.
In the same context, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said that the aggression on Gaza was plotted for long time ago to liquidate the Palestinian cause, therefore, they plunged the region with terrorism.
He affirmed the Syrian firm stance on the Palestinian cause, adding that Syria is going ahead with methods planned by Late President Hafez al-Assad, which is continuous under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
