Homs, SANA – Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi stressed that Syria is steadfast through the strength of its leadership, people and army and will remain the source of light, highlighting rejection of popularization of any prim typical model of relations between Christians and Muslims.
Heading a mass at St. George Monastery in Wadi al-Nadara in Homs, Patriarch Yazigi said that historical incidents and the logic of geography say that the Christians, as well as the Muslims, of this country do not know the language of extremism or the annihilation of the other; they actually know one lap that embraces them in the homeland.
The patriarch addressed President Bashar al-Assad, saying “We tell everyone Syria will remain steadfast through the steadfastness of its leadership, people and army and it will remain the source of light.”
Patriarch Yazigi prayed for the pure souls which were shed at the “altar of the homeland” expressing condolences to “every mother and father who lost their son.”
