Collective wedding ceremony for injured soldiers in honor of their sacrifices

Lattakia, SANA – In appreciation of their sacrifices, a collective wedding ceremony for 8 wounded army members was held at the Officers Club in Lattakia on Thursday.

The ceremony was organized by a women’s volunteer group, one of many other groups that emerged during the ongoing crisis in the country and carried out various activities to support the army and families of injured and dead soldiers.

The grooms wore military uniforms, while the brides wore white dresses adorned with the Syria flag.

“The initiative comes to honor the sacrifices offered by those brave soldiers in defending Syria against terrorism,” said Janssette Qazan, head of the group, which includes 35 women.

“We as mothers will educate our children to love their homeland and will not abandon one grain of Syrian soil,” Qazan added.

Samar al-Hajj from Lebanon, who attended the ceremony, said that this “national wedding”, which is not the first to be held since the crisis broke out in 2011, is considered “a prelude to the biggest victory ceremony when Syria is declared free of terrorists.”

“Syria and its army have taught the world the meaning of dignity, honor and courage,” al-Hajj added.
