Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources inspects al-Shaer gas field

Homs, SANA-Caretaker Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Sulaiman al-Abbas visited on Wednesday al-Shaer gas field in Homs eastern countryside, which was recaptured recently from terrorist groups that wreaked considerable havoc in the area.

Inspecting the volume of damage caused to infrastructure in the wake of terrorists’ takeover of the field, al-Abbas hailed the efforts of the Syrian army which expelled terrorists from the field and is now protecting the gas facilities in the area.

Earlier on Tuesday, the minister inspected maintenance operations at Banias refinery that was put into service again after a 10 day hiatus for maintenance work.

Army units, aided by popular defense forces, established full control over al-Shaer mountain, and the gas fields in Homs eastern countryside, following a precise operation that resulted in killing large numbers of terrorists from the “Islamic State”.
