Damascus, SANA-The General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR), the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) continued the distribution of aid among the locals of al-Yarmouk Refugee camp near Damascus, supported by the Syrian government.
The GAPAR Director-General Ali Mustapha said some 498 food and health baskets have been distributed Sunday containing vegetables, fruit, bread, and canned food, among other foodstuffs. Medical items including vaccines, drugs and equipment were among the distributed baskets, he added.
Mustapha said the total amount of food baskets distributed in the camp since 30 of January has reached 40,043, along with 3,776 health and medical baskets. 4,460 persons were brought outside the camp for medical reasons.
Mustapha added that the GAPAR will continue distributing aid after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
