Damascus, SANA – Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Saad al-Nayef said that the state of medicine supplies in Syria are excellent, with only a small shortage of some specific drugs which the Ministry is working to procure soon.
This statement was made during a tour of the Ocular Surgery Hospital at Ibn al-Nafis Medical Complex in Damascus on Monday, in which al-Nayef inspected work at the facility and was briefed by its staff on the difficulties facing them.
He noted that 80 to 85% of the services provided by the Ocular Surgery Hospital are free of charge, while hospital director Dr. Rana Omran asserted that the hospital is operating around the clock, with resident doctors and specialists prepared to carry out surgical procedures at any time, even during holidays.
