Homs, SANA – Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi stressed the need to provide suitable conditions for revitalizing economy in the province and employ its workforce, in addition to finding a formula for retroactively curbing corruption and shortcomings.
During a session of Homs Governorate Council on Sunday, al-Barazi said that the speech delivered by President Bashar al-Assad after being sworn in laid down the plans for the next stage and its strategies, touching on the rebuilding process.
The Governor said Homs province suffered much damage, which calls for setting work priority and emphasizing economic and social aspects, returning displaced locals, and restoring security and stability, detailing some plans to repair a number of rural areas like al-Qseir.
He also said that there will be studies for the zoning of the province and for reorganizing and rebuilding damaged areas, adding that work is underway to restore the Governorate building and it should be fully operational in early August.
Members of the Council discussed committee reports and issues related to planning, census, and budget, suggesting that a fund for people injured during the crisis be established.
