Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Special Olympics organized an open sports day for children with special needs at al-Faihaa Sport City in Damascus.
Children enjoyed a variety of artistic, sport and entertainment activities and got engaged in swimming contests.
Tarif Qoutrash, supervisor of the activity, told SANA reporter that they aimed through holding this “full-of-fun” activity to strengthen ties between the children and their families and open channels of communication among the civil associations concerned with children with special needs.
He cited a the participation of children from a number of associations, including al-Amal, al-Rajaa, Zahret al-Madaen, al-Mahabbeh and Joudi.
Children of different ages were present and had a remarkable presence in the sports contests held within the sports event.
Qoutrash pointed out that the national program of the Syrian Special Olympics will continue to hold more of these activities, that are being carried out under specialized sport and artistic supervision.
