Damascus, SANA – On the occasion of the International Child Day, al-Baath Vanguards Organization launched the Central Childhood Festival in Damascus on Wednesday.
The two-day event is held at al-Azem Palace and Asaad Pasha Khan (inn) in the Old City.
The Organization also signed a memo of understanding with the Ministry of Tourism on children-related activities including developing their skills and encouraging them to depend on themselves.
Member of the Arab al-Baath Socialist Party’s Regional leadership, Arkan al-Shoufi, stressed the importance of these events especially in the current stage where terrorism is trying to obliterate the heritage of their country.
For his part, Minister of Tourism Bishr Yazigi said the memo is within the Ministry’s strategy to promote the tourist culture in children.
The festival includes musical and theater performances by children from all Syrian provinces, in addition to exhibitions of paintings and crafts including pottery and mosaic made by children.
