Moscow, SANA . Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin criticized the “double standards” followed by a number of states in dealing with terrorism in Syria and Iraq as a brutality.
” It is especially strange when some countries condemn any terrorist organizations in Iraq, but take a different look at the activity of the same groups in Syria,”Russia Today website quoted Churkin as saying on Tuesday.
” Everyone knows well that these groups are interrelated and carrying out the same terrorist operations,” he said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry recently warned the West of the consequences of its support to the armed terrorist groups in Syria, urging it to respect the Syrian people’s option and abandon the plans of supporting these groups.
The Ministry stressed that the West’s support to the armed opposition in Syria may have bad consequences on the region as a whole.
