Aleppo, SANA – Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halaqi inspected work in several government establishments and economic and services facilities in Aleppo city to assess the living conditions and state of services and development in order to take appropriate steps to improve them.
Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Premier al-Halqi allocated SYP 6.127 billion in financial aid to the province to develop various sectors.
During his visit to the city, al-Halaqi toured faculties in Aleppo University, the Radio and TV Center, al-Ihsan charity, a temporary housing center, a bakery, and the industrial area in al-Arqoub, in addition to visiting the Military Hospital in Aleppo where he met injured army personnel and toured markets in the city.
In statements to journalists, the Prime Minister vowed to continue combating terrorism so that Aleppo may return to its former splendor along with the rest of Syria, asserting that the situation in Aleppo proves that Syria is prevailing over the war targeting it, lauding the determination of Aleppo University Students who continue to challenge terrorism.
He said the government is committed to establishing industrial zones in all provinces to boost social stability and achieve an economic, industrial, and developmental boom and establish new industries, calling on Syrian businessmen to invest in industrial zones.
Regarding humanitarian aid and relief, al-Halaqi said the government is committed to providing aid to all areas without exception, and that it works hard to rehabilitate services and utilities sectors in areas where security is restored and help locals return to their homes, adding that the government is also keen on caring for the families of martyrs and injured army personnel.
The Premier also met a number of social, economic, and religious figures, in addition to officials and dignitaries, affirming to them commitment to overcoming all hurdles and staying in touch with citizens.
He also said that the government is working to provide solutions to provide drinking water to Aleppo.
Al-Halaqi was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawanji, in addition to the Ministers of Health, Electricity, Industry, Irrigation, Social Affairs, and Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, along with the Aleppo Governor and other officials.
