Beirut, SANA. The Syrian Embassy in Beirut on Saturday organized a reception for figures, delegations, and activities that came to offer congratulations on the success of the presidential elections in Syria.
Receiving the guests, Syria’s Ambassador in Lebanon Ali Abdelkarim Ali said that the high turnout for the elections and the number of people who elected President al-Assad constituted an answer to all the doubters and those who tried to destroy Syria from within.
The reception was attended by figures such as former Lebanese Parliament Deputy Speaker Eli Ferzli, MP Nicola Fattoush, former minister Wadih al-Khazen, Secretary General of the Arab-Islamic Gathering for Supporting the Resistance Yehea Ghaddar, Media Relations Officer in Hezbollah Ibrhaim al-Musawi, analyst Wasim Bazzi, former MP Fayssal al-Dawood, member of the Free Patriotic Movement Pierre Raffoul, and member of the Highest Council of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party Rabih al-Debs.
A delegation from Amal Movement’s leadership also attended the reception headed by chairman of the Movement’s politburo Jamil Hayek, in addition to a delegation from El Marrada party headed by Culture Minister Raymond Ariji, and a delegation from the Nation Movement.
Several independent figures and representatives of civil, syndical, economic, and local activities also attended the event.
