President al-Assad receives congratulatory cables from leaders of Myanmar and Abkhazia

Damascus, SANA. President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received cables from the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Thein Sein and acting President of Abkhazia Valeri Bganba congratulating him on winning the presidential elections.

President Thein Sein voiced confidence that relations between Syria and Myanmar will grow stronger and benefit the two countries’ people in the coming years.

In turn, Bganba said that the election of President al-Assad will bolster peace in Syria and improve its position on the internaiotnal levels, expressing interest in establishing friendly cooperation relations.
