Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed during its weekly session on Tuesday a number of services issues and steps to improve the services provided to citizens, and continued discussing the government’s ministerial statement which will be presented to the People’s Assembly.
Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi called for improving cooperation and coordination among ministries, noting that beginning the new school year sends a message to the world that the Syrians are determined to living their lives normally.
Addressing the economic situation, al-Halaqi said pointed out to the instability in market prices during the past week and the decrease in the Syrian Pound price, reviewing the steps taken by the government to stabilize the exchange rate and calling for curbing monopolies and supervising the prices of goods and fuel.
During the session, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem reviewed the latest political developments on the international arena, while Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawanji reviewed the report of the committee tasked with investigating building infringements.
Likewise, Petroleum Minister Sleiman al-Abbas reviewed the state of petroleum products reserves and efforts to procure heating fuel for winter.
