Hama governor, ICRC discuss means of activating water projects

Hama, SANA Governor of Hama, Dr. Ghassan Khalaf, discussed with deputy chairman of the international mission of the Red Cross in Damascus stages of implementing joint projects in Hama province to improve the living conditions of the people affected by the crisis.

Governor Khalaf stressed that the Syrian government offered all facilitations to various international organizations operating in Syria, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, due to the technical and financial support they offer to the affected areas.

The governor pointed out that the displacement of 900,000 people into Hama province caused great population pressure on the city accompanied by great demand on water, electricity and food, calling for opening an office for the ICRC in Hama.

ICRC deputy chairman said the ICRC is determined to establish an office in Hama province tasked with supervising and following up the world of the ICRC and its projects in Homs and Hama provinces, adding that the ICRC is offering support and committed to neutrality and independence.
