Daraa, SANA A second shipment of humanitarian assistance entered villages and towns in the eastern countryside of Daraa with the support of the Syrian government as part of a plan aimed at covering the needs of terrorism-affected citizens.
A 16-truck convoy containing 16,000 food and medical parcels was delivered on Tuesday in cooperation with international organizations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).
Daraa Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous said that this new aid shipment followed a pervious one that was delivered Sunday to sixteen towns and villages in the eastern countryside of the province as to be distributed to displaced and affected families.
The aid will be distributed under the supervision of heads of municipalities and senior figures from each town in coordination with the SARC, according to al-Hannous.
Head of Operations at SARC Firas al-Naqib said the relief supplies have covered a great part of the needs of residents in the eastern and western countryside of Daraa, referring to a plan set to cover the needs in the northern and central parts of the province in the upcoming days.
An estimated 52,000 food and medical parcels have so far been delivered to the eastern and western countryside of Daraa.
