Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister-designate Wael al-Halaqi on Saturday inaugurated al-Fayhaa Sport Compound in Dummar area in Damascus which is valued at SYP 6 billion.
The new project will provide about 2,000 new job opportunities and covers a 38 donums area.
In statements to reporters, al-Halaqi said the event indicates that the Syrian economy recovering thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Army that restored security to many areas and created a suitable environment for the locals to return to their areas and continue their daily activities.
He stressed that such establishments are an outcome of the will of the Syrians and their resolve to rebuild their homeland, highlighting the government’s interest in invigorating domestic tourism and improving the living standards for all citizens.
The Premier toured the project which includes sport facilities such as football and basketball courts, bowling alleys, karate and boxing arenas, in addition to other facilities such as restaurants, theatres, a cinema and an amusement park.
