Damascus, SANA – The army units boosted strength in the southwestern side of Daraa city, known as al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad, which is located hundreds of meters from the Syrian-Jordanian borders , one of the fronts through which the armed terrorist groups launch their attacks to secure supply lines for terrorists.
A filed commander told SANA that the location of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood, near the borders, made it a strategic goal for terrorists as the axis of al-Ramtha, Daraa, Da’el, the old costumes and water sources is considered the most important one used by terrorists.
He added that the dense forests and vast areas are factors that could help terrorists move and sneake, pointing out that despite this factor, the army units could monitor and control the area where scores of terrorists’ vehicles, loaded with weapons and ammunition, were destroyed.
During the last weeks, the army units repelled 3 terrorists attacks on a number of military checkpoints, the fiercest one was before 3 days in which terrorists used heavy weapons and sent a booby-trapped car, but the army’s personnel could destroy it, killing 260 terrorists and injuring others, in addition to seizing large amounts of weapons and ammunition.
