Thousands of displaced Iraqis seek refuge to Hasaka following ISIS attack

Damascus, SANA- More than a thousand Iraqi families have been secured in a makeshift housing in al-Malekia area in the north-eastern Hasaka province after they were displaced due to attacks of the “Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham” (ISIS) terrorist organization, the caretaker Minister of Social Affairs at said Monday.
Thousands of families have fled Iraq following ISIS attacks since the 2nd of August. Hundred of civilians are reported to have been killed or abducted by the terrorist organization.
Minister Kinda al-Shammat said “We urge the World Food Programme to increase relief aid allocated to Hasaka through an airlift to fulfill the increasing needs of the Province.”

SANA reporter in Hasaka said that big numbers of Iraqi families have come to the Province borders Iraq, adding they were sheltered in schools and that their basic needs are being supplied, with locals providing transportations to the escaping civilians across the Iraqi borders,” he added
Roughly 700 tents have been set up in the Ain al-Khadra in al-Malekia to this end.
