Moscow, SANA – The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian demining and bomb-disposal experts cleared 2,000 hectares in Aleppo city from landmines and IEDs planted by terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods of the city.
Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Engineer Troops Colonel Ruslan Alakhverdiyev said that experts from Russia’s International Mine Action Center operating in Aleppo dismantled 25,000 IEDs in an area of over 2,000 hectares that include around 680 km of roads and 3,500 positions.
Alakhverdiyev said that more than half of the IEDs were handmade, and that the clearing of Aleppo from explosives was achieved without any losses in lives or properties and in a very short time.
