Pyongyang, SANA- Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) commemorates the 5th anniversary of the death of its leader Kim Jong Il, who passed away on Dec 17, 2011.
Koreans show respect to their leader who spent his life in serving their issues and dedicated his life for the future of his country based on the principle of caring for future through setting up plans and policies which meet the aspirations of the future as he managed in leading his country in a critical period in facing the threats of the US camp and its siege and sanctions.
In a statement, DPRK Embassy in Damascus said that “Thanks to leader Jong Il policies, the interest of the Korean people became the criterion of all plans and policies in the country that were maintained through the implementation of the free
health care and education.”
The confidence of the Korean people in their leader Jong Il led to unifying society, the
statement added.
DPRK carried out at Jong Il era huge and gigantic projects in different domains, mainly space, agriculture, electricity, tourist, medicine.
However, Jong Il policies made DPRK a strong and prosperous socialist state despite of being targeted by the American colonialist.
Jong Il came into office in 1994 and he was the supreme leader of the Korean popular army and the secretary general of the Korean Labor Party. He passed away on Dec 17, 2011.
