New batch of food items arrives to Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor, SANA-Two tons of chicken arrived to Deir Ezzor city through Syrian helicopters from Qamishli city on Monday in the framework of the government’s exerted efforts to deliver various food items to the besieged locals.

Supervising the selling process, Governor of Deir Ezzor Mohammad Ibrahim Samra affirmed that meat and eggs will continue to be sent to the city in the coming days according to the contracts signed between the governorate and a number of traders to supply the city of Deir Ezzor with food.

He pointed out that a special committee had been formed to receive the meat and eggs in order to ensure their suitability for human use before being sold in the market.

Last week, two tons of meat arrived to Deir Ezzor city.

The city of Deir Ezzor has been under a 2-year blockade by ISIS terrorist organization which prevents the delivery of food, medicines and fuel to citizens, while the Syrian and Russian aviation drop those materials by parachutes.
