Damascus, SANA – Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) Jamal al-Qadiri and the Secretary General of the Iranian Workers’ House Alireza Mahjoub signed on Sunday a joint cooperation agreement that aims at enhancing relations between the two sides and setting up an establishment that is concerned with the wounded in Syria.
According to the agreement, the establishment, which will be affiliated to the GFTU, will be concerned with the affairs of the wounded personnel of the Syrian Arab Army, the working class and others whose injuries have led to permanent disabilities.
It will provide psychological, physical and vocational support to the injured and help integrate them into the society, and will do that through making use of the experience of the Martyr’s (Shahid) Foundation in Iran.
The agreement also included providing the GFTU with in-kind and technical contributions by the Iranian Workers’ House in order to establish a workers university similar to the one owned by the Iranian Workers’ House in Tehran.
The two sides agreed to the proposal made by the Iranian Workers’ House on creating a regional trade union bloc of the trade unions which support the resistance that are willing to join this bloc and invite it to hold its first conference in Tehran early next year.
