Cabinet approves Industry Ministry’s plan for activating public and private industrial sector

Damascus, SANA-The Cabinet approved in its weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis on Tuesday the plan of the Industry Ministry that aims at activating the public and private industrial sector.

The plan includes supporting the marginal companies to increase their production capacity in order to turn them into profitable companies and take advantage of existing workers in the loss-making companies through training them to take place in the industrial work.

About the private industrial sector, the Cabinet decided to set up working groups in each province to provide procedural financial facilitations in the form of exemptions from the fees and loans as well as providing incentives and procedures for those interested in launching new projects through the provision of facilitations in the industrial cities and areas.

The ministry’ plan also aims at supporting the profitable companies, developing the work of some loss-making companies and modernizing their production lines or adding new lines, closing the stalled companies and using their locations and infrastructure to establish joint projects.

The Cabinet stressed the need to rehabilitate the insurance sector due to its importance in enhancing national economy.

In turn, the Prime Minister pointed out to the government’s support for the media sector and the new vision that will be implemented by the Ministry of Information through the restructuring of the establishments and the development of media discourse as to enhance the strength of the state.
