Damascus, SANA- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari affirmed that his country’s support to Syria in the fight against terrorism is firm and principled.
Ansari, at a press conference held Tuesday in Damascus, added that any unilateral military operations targeting the terrorist organizations on the Syrian territories without coordination with the Syrian government wouldn’t be acceptable by Iran, highlighting that such intervention will lead to severe repercussions.
Answering a question to SANA reporter on the ways of the support provided by Iran to Syria especially after the US and Zionist increasing support to the terrorist organizations, Ansari clarified that the Iranian policy towards Syria is transparent, clear and firm, pointing out that his country has announced frequently that it will continue supporting Syria in all domains and fields until reaching rapid and terminal solution to the crisis.
Ansari added that Iran considers the continuation of adopting the same political approach by some sides during the past stage in dealing with the crisis in Syria and playing on the tendon of the terrorist organizations to achieve the political gains and advantages will bring more devastation and destruction to Syria and the region, stressing that his country strongly opposes this policy and asserts that the Syrian people are the only ones who have the right to determine their future.
He indicated that Iran had asserted from the beginning of the crisis in Syria that the dialogue among the Syrians is the only way to solve the crisis away from the military solutions.
Ansari went on to say that Iran always welcomes reaching any serious and real cessation of hostilities because this will lead to the start of finding political solution to the crisis , asserting that the main condition for making a success to any project aiming to stop the hostilities is the honest and real will of all sides concerned in confronting the terrorist organizations, especially the United States.
Concerning the US aggression on the Syrian Army positions in Deir Ezzor, Ansari made it clear that this aggression couldn’t be by chance as it indicates that some parties still insist on playing on the tendon of the terrorist organizations.
On the US decline to publicize the terms of the agreement reached with Russia on Syria, Ansari emphasized that this is because the lack of transparency and clearness of the policies depended by Washington in addition to its ambiguous will in facing the terrorist organizations actively and seriously.
