Lattakia, SANA – The number of the breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria has reached 1108 since the agreement came into effect on February 27th.
The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center monitoring the agreement announced that over the past 24 hours, the terrorist groups breached the agreement 10 more times in the countryside of Damascus and Lattakia.
The center added in a statement that terrorists of the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” attacked with mortar shells a number of towns in the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside, while terrorist groups linked to the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” and the “Free Army” shelled a number of villages and towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
Four new villages joined the cessation of hostilities over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of towns and areas that are part of the agreement to 490, according to the center.
The cessation of hostilities agreement doesn’t include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
