New York, SANA-Russia’s permanent envoy to the UN, Vitally Churkin affirmed on Tuesday that his country calls for resuming the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva without preconditions.
“There are members at the Council that put different conditions to resume the talks,” Churkin told reporters, adding that UN envoy for Syria de Mistura had said that “whenever we have less violence, we find more chances for dialogue.”
He added that de Mistura hopes dialogue would be resumed at the end of August, affirming in this regard “I was satisfied when I heard that de Mistura plans to resume dialogue in the end of August.”
He called on those who have influence on “the opposition” to give guarantees that they will be ready this time.
