Hama, SANA- The annual Book Fair, dubbed Salamiyeh is Still Reading, which was opened in Salamyieh city Saturday, included more than two thousands titles covered various specializations and sciences, mainly books of heritage, philosophic studies, sociology and psychology books in addition to international and Arab novels and children’s books.
The Fair, which lasts until the 11th of the current August, was organized by Salamyieh House for Book.
In a statement to SANA, Director of Salamiyeh House for Book Hussein al-Haj said that the main goal of the fair is ensuring books for readers, asserting the important of the book as a mass media for gaining knowledge since reading is positively improving the relation of the human being with life and the others.
For her part, Dima al-Qassir stressed the importance of organizing such activities in
Salamiyeh city which is under daily threat of terrorists, asserting that the book remains the main source for information even in the time of prevailing technology and the wide electronic means.
Salamiyeh House for Book holds two annual book fairs marking the World Book Day and the anniversary of establishing the house in 1987.
