Damascus, SANA – Syria expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that took place in Jordan on Tuesday in which a number of Jordanian army members were killed near the border with Syria.
An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry voiced the condemnation in a statement to SANA on Wednesday, expressing Syria’s condolences and sympathy with the brotherly people of Jordan and the families of the victims.
“This terrorist attack stresses once again that terrorism knows no borders and that no one is immune to it,” said the source, reminding that Syria has repeatedly cautioned that terrorism will backfire on its supporters.
Syria also has always stressed its readiness “to cooperate with the brothers in fighting terrorism and preserving the security and stability of the region,” the source added.
An official source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Tuesday that six members of the Jordanian army were killed and 14 others were injured in a car bomb attack that targeted a military post near Rukban camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border.
