Damascus, SANA – Grand Mufti of Syria Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun said Syria has remained steadfast in facing the conspiracy thanks to its people who stood by their army and the leadership and to the support of its citizens abroad.
Hassoun, meeting a delegation of the Syrian American Will Association (SAWA) on Tuesday, added that what the Syrian expatriates do in their countries of residence affirms their loyalty to their homeland as they have firmly adhered to their roots and strongly stood up for their country.
In turn, deputy head of SAWA Ali al-Rayyes pointed out that SAWA conveys the true image of what is going on in Syria to the US public opinion and works actively against terrorism that is targeting Syria and against foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs.
SAWA delegation member Mounzer Ahmad said they seek to convey the reality of terrorism being practiced in Syria to the US decision makers to inform them that the policy of the US administration towards Syria is not constructive and does not serve the interests of neither the American nor the Syrian people.
