Damascus, SANA – A terrorist mortar attack in Damascus on Sunday claimed the life of a citizen and injured 14 others.
The attack, which included two mortar shells, hit a market in al-Zablatani area, according to a Police Command source.
Three other shells landed near a hospital, a school and a mall in al-Abbassiyeen area, causing material damage to a number of houses and cars, without hurting anyone.
In Damascus Countryside, three mortar shells fired by terrorists fell in Block 26 in Harasta suburb, causing only material damage.
In the town of Talfita, a terrorist group assassinated member of the local national reconciliation committee, lawyer Ahmad Mazhar Shalhoum.
The terrorists opened fire on the lawyer’s car near the town’s entrance as he was driving home, injuring him and his two uncles who were in the car with him. Shalhoum was transported to a hospital where he passed away after succumbing to his injuries. His uncles sustained severe wounds in the attack.
