Provinces, SANA- The army and armed forces continued combating terrorism all over the country, killing scores of terrorists, destroying their hideouts, foiling their infiltration attempts to safe areas and establishing control over new areas.
Lattakia
The army established control over many villages, hills and strategic posts in the northern countryside of Lattakia on Thursday.
A military source told SANA that an army unit, aided by the popular defense groups, carried out a special operation
in which it assumed control over al-Daghdaghan farm, 60 km north of Lattakia, which is a main position for
terrorist organizations linked to the Turkish regime that turned it into a center for storing weapons, ammunition
and equipment for use of chemical weapons.
All the gatherings of terrorists in the farm were eliminated, others fled away and explosive devices and mines
earlier planted by them were removed, the source noted.
The army units and the popular defense groups advanced and also established control over Rweiset Abu Ghannam,
Rweiset al-Sheikh Salman, al-Hara Mount and Beit Fares Mount, in addition to the Posts 292, 296 and 387, according to the source.
Al-Sarraf village and the surrounding Posts 465, 342 and 489 also came under the army’s control, with the
terrorists in those areas suffering heavy losses in personnel and equipment.
Later on the day, the army assumed control over Beit Fares village.
These new achievements are added to previous ones made over the past few weeks as the army has intensified
operations in Lattakia northern countryside to the effect of cutting off most of the terrorist organizations’
supply lines across the Turkish border and their roads between Jisr al-Shughour in Idleb and Rabiaa in Lattakia.
Aleppo
Meanwhile, field sources told SANA that the army established control on al-Najara village and the nearby strategic hill to the north of Kwairis airport, 55 KM east of Aleppo.
The sources added that the army’s control on the region came after destroying the fortifications and dens of ISIS terrorists, killing large number of them.
Hama/Idleb
In the meantime, at least 43 terrorists from groups affiliated to the so-called “Jaish al-Fateh” organization were killed during army operations in Hama and Idleb countryside.
In the northern countryside of Hama, an army unit carried out three special operations against dens of terrorists from “Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement” in Atshan village, destroying a command center and two vehicles and killing 28 terrorists.
The terrorist Mohammad Abu Faissal, leader of the “Terrorist Movement in Hama Northern Countryside” was identified among the dead.
Meanwhile, field sources said that at least 10 terrorists from the so-called “Jund al-Aqsa” were killed and a center for them was destroyed during a special operation by an army unit in the surroundings of Morek.
In Idleb countryside, the military source said that an army unit hit positions for Jaish al-Fateh terrorists in Ariha city, killing at least 5 terrorists and destroying one of their main centers in the city.
Deir Ezzor
In the eastern province of Deir Ezzour, army units clashed Wednesday night with ISIS terrorists who attempted to infiltrate from the villages of al-Jafra, Hweijet Saker, al-Mrei’yeh farms and al-Dagheem area towards Deir Ezzor military airport, field sources told SANA.
ISIS terrorists were inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment during the clashes as many of their vehicles, equipped with heavy and medium machineguns and loaded with arms and ammunition, were destroyed by the army.
Quneitra
A unit of the army eliminated a number of terrorists and destroyed their military equipment in a special operation against their dens in the eastern side of Mashara village to the East of al-Quneitra southern city.
