Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi inaugurated on Wednesday al-Kiswah wheat mill in Damascus Countryside, a project with a total value of more than SYP 7 billion.
The mill provides over 150 permanent and 100 temporary job opportunities, and its total production capacity is estimated at 450 tons per day.
Premier al-Halaqi said the government is working to rehabilitate mills to ensure self-sufficiency in all the Syrian provinces, stressing the government’s keenness on providing strategic stockpiles of wheat and flour.
The Premier also inspected work and production sites at the United Arab Industrial Company for textiles, which provides over 525 job opportunities and has a complete production cycle, from fabrics and textiles to the final product phase.
Al-Halaqi said the high quality of the Syrian textile industry was the reason behind targeting these institutions, as the Turkish regime ordered the terrorist groups to loot textile factories and smuggle their equipment into Turkey.
