Iraq, Syria discuss cooperation in fighting terrorism

Baghdad, SANA- Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi discussed on Sunday with Syria’s ambassador to Baghdad Sattam Dandah bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two sides discussed their countries’ bilateral relations mainly issues related to security cooperation and borders control while fighting terrorism, Iraqi Defense Ministry said in a statement.

For his part, Ambassador Dandah asserted that the meeting came in the framework of consultation between the two countries over ways of facing terrorism, the bilateral cooperation to fight it and controlling the common borders between Iraq and Syria.

The consultation and coordination between the two countries are continuous on all domains because Iraq and Syria are engaging in the same battle against one terrorist enemy, he said, adding that achieving victory in this battle necessitates consultation, exchange viewpoints and experience.
