Warsaw, SANA- The Syrian economic delegation, headed by Assistant Minister of Industry Nidal Fallouh, currently visiting Poland, discussed Wednesday with Christina Goubril, Deputy President of the Polish Agricultural Market Agency (Agencja Rynku Rolnego)(ARR) prospects of economic cooperation, especially in the agricultural sector between the two countries.
Goubril expressed the Agency’s care for opening new markets for Polish agricultural products outside the countries of the European Union, including Syria.
She pointed out that the Syrian markets are promising ones, asserting that restoring security and stability to Syria would create suitable circumstances in consolidating cooperation ties between Syria and Poland, mainly in the agricultural field.
Goubril showed the Agency’s readiness to provide the Syrian side with its expertise in the agricultural marketing field.
She invited the Syrian side to participate in the agricultural equipment fair, scheduled in next March in Poland.
For his part, Fallouh stressed the existence of wide promising prospects of cooperation between the two sides, mainly in the industrial-agricultural
productions, like cotton and sugar-beet and other products.
Fallouh called upon the Polish businessmen to establish joint projects and companies with their Syrian counterparts, particularly in the agricultural equipment domain, as the polish side has big expertise in this domain.
Charge d’ Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Warsaw Idris Mayya, in turn, hailed the importance of the Syrian economic delegation’s visit to Warsaw in activating the cooperation relations between the two countries, mainly in the agricultural field.
Mayya expressed the Embassy’s readiness to facilitate communication between representatives of the two Chambers of Commerce and Industry and businessmen of both countries.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Syrian Chambers stressed the importance of holding joint fairs in the two countries which would contribute in marketing their agricultural and industrial productions.
In the same context, the Syrian economic delegation met President of the Board of Directors of Huawei S.A. Crop. Company Powell Sopko, who showed readiness to provide the Syrian side with its expertise in the field of communication.
Sopko pointed out that his company has big expertise in the Network linkage processes between banks according to its own high-tech programs.
Fallouh said that the Syrian government plans to establish an optical fiber company, expressing readiness to cooperate with Huawei Company in establishing a joint company in this domain.
For their part, members of the Syrian delegation reviewed the reality of the telecommunication sector in Syria in light of the big damage affected it due to the attacks of the terrorist organizations, asserting that this sector needs maintenance and reconstruction which opens new prospects of cooperation between the two sides in
this domain.
The Syrian economic delegation started on Monday a visit to Poland upon the invitation of its chamber of Industry and Commerce, and it met Polish economic activities discussing prospects of economic and investment cooperation between the
two countries.
