Winners of Syrian Science Olympiad for teachers announced

Damascus, SANA – The National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad announced on Sunday the winners in the Olympiad finals for teachers that took place yesterday.

The tests were held in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology and IT.

220 contestants from the provinces of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Sweida, Quneitra, Homs, Aleppo, Hama, Tartous and Lattakia competed in the finals, where the tests were conducted in two rounds, 3 hours each.

Winning teachers will be benefited from in the process of qualifying and training other teachers in the various provinces. Some might be given the opportunity to join the Central Scientific Committee of the Olympiad or be appointed as specialized instructors and join the curricula developing teams.

The first stage of the Olympiad for teachers was held on August 30 with the participation of 700 teachers.

This year’s contest was the second, as an experimental one took place last year in four provinces involving 344 contestants.
