Washington, SANA- The US admitted that it had sent 70 terrorists, whom it calls “moderate opposition”, to Syria after training and arming them in Turkey under its supervision.
The US Central Command “Centcom” claimed in a statement on Monday that the 70 militants, who re-entered Syria, will fight alongside “vetted opposition forces.”
Centcom indicated that the militants will not operate under the command and control of the US-led coalition against ISIS terrorist organization, yet the US will continue to support them.
Earlier Sunday, news websites mentioned that about 75 terrorists whom the US classifies as a “moderate opposition” entered the northern countryside of Aleppo coming from the Turkish territories after they received military training in Turkey.
The US, within its support to terrorism in Syria, had declared a program for training whom it calls “moderate opposition” in cooperation with Erdogan’s regime.
The cost of the program reaches USD 500 million annually, and the first group, (54 members) of the trained terrorists, was sent to Syria last July under the pretext of fighting ISIS, of which only 5 remained fighting according to General Lloyd Austin, Commander of the US Central Command.
US Senate Republican members described the US program as just a farce and an abject failure.
