Syria beats Cambodia 6-0 in World Cup/Asian Cup joint qualifications

Phnom Penh, SANA – Syria’s national football team beat Cambodian team 6-0 in the third round of the joint qualifications for Russia’s 2018 World Cup and UAE’s 2019 Asian Cup.

The match took place in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, on Tuesday.

With this win, the Syrian national team raised its points to 9, taking the lead of Group 5.

Singapore followed and came second with 4 points, Japan third with 4 points, Afghanistan fourth with 3 points and Cambodia bottom without points, waiting for the results of Japan-Afghanistan match that takes place later today.

The Syrian team beat Singapore 1-0 in the second round, after it beat Afghanistan 6-1 in the first round.
