Haidar: Spread of terrorism in the region seeks to eclipse Palestinian’s right to return

Damascus, SANA – State Minister for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar on Wednesday met a delegation from the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Ahmad Majdalani, discussing with them the efforts to carry out reconciliation in Yarmouk Camp in Damascus.

Haidar said that the spread of terrorism in the region serves Israel and seeks to eclipse the Palestinian people’s right to return to their home, and weaken Syria’s role in defending the Arab nation’s rights.

He asserted that the Palestinian cause will remain the central cause of the Syrian people, noting that the Syrian government has provided all necessary facilitations to launch a reconciliation process in Yarmouk Camp, but terrorist groups always undermine reconciliation efforts.

For his part, Majdalani said that developments in the region indicate that there is a positive atmosphere for finding a political solution for the crisis in Syria, which is something that the Palestinian leadership supports.

He also stressed the need to confront terrorism which poses a great threat to Palestine and the entire region.
