Aleppo, SANA- Electricity Minister Imad Khamis , Water Resources’ Minister Kamal al-Sheikha and State Minister for the People’s Assembly Affairs , Dr. Hassib Elias Shammas discussed on Sunday with officials and popular activities in Aleppo the service situation in the northern city, particularly water and electricity.
The popular activities and officials called for finding immediate solutions to alleviate the suffering of the citizens in Aleppo, digging more water wells and increase the budget of the investment plan.
Minister Khamis said that the main problem that faces electricity sector in Aleppo is the lack of fuel needed to run the generating groups and the breaking down of a number of dams because of terrorist acts.
For his part, Water Resources’ Minister reviewed the ministry’ measures to ease the suffering of locals in Aleppo, affirming that the ministry is digging new wells in Aleppo and will provide them with technical equipment for making them ready for investment.
Al-Sheikha noted that Aleppo needs 150 additional wells to meet the needs of locals, stressing that the ministry is ready to offer all financial support to achieve water stabilization in the province.
Minister Shammas affirmed that the visit aims to inspect the service situation in Aleppo and develop improve it, adding People’s Assembly sessions are witnessing lengthy discussions about the service situation in Aleppo and mechanisms to improve it.
