Damascus, SANA – Director of the Opera House Juan Qarajuli said that the new season of performances at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Art – Damascus Opera House will begin with the “Syria Rainbow” festival for folk music and song.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Qarajuli said that the five-day festival will begin on Sunday, and will showcase traditional folk music from across Syria, and that this event has a performance art aspect as well as a documentary aspect, as it will focus on the heritage and cultural aspects of the music being performed.
He said that the festival will be held on annual basis, adding that ticket prices will be nominal, as events open to public cause problems due to the inability to assess and manage the numbers of attendees.
