Participants in Tartous Int’l Flower Festival see promising cooperation opportunities

Tartous, SANA – The First International Flower Festival in Tartous seems to provide promising economic opportunities of cooperation among the local, Arab and foreign participants and exhibitors.

The participants in the Festival, which goes on for the fifth day, spoke to SANA of them having used the opportunity of displacing theirs services in flower coordinating, wrapping, packaging and transporting to ensure future access into foreign markets facilitated by other participants.

Abdallah Rabeh, head of the Sudanese delegation, said they managed to hold several meetings with participants from different countries and discussed the possibility of exchanging experiences and creating trade movement on the two levels of importation and exportation.

Many of the delegations have already achieved a high rate of selling their products and exhibits.

One of those is the Lebanese delegation who recorder a sale percentage of 70 of flowers and ornamental plants even hours before the official opening of the festival, according to Ahmad al-Burji, one of the delegation’s members.

In turn, representative of Dutch delegation said the Dutch pavilion has focused on presenting different kinds of hybrid and annual seeds, noting that there really is a lot of promising cooperation opportunities between the participants.

Ismael Khalil Ibrahim of the Iraqi delegation hailed in particular the standing cooperation with the Syrian side, pointing out that he has been importing flowers from Syria since 2003.

The festival, which is organized by Tartous city council and the Syrian Exporters Federation, started last Wednesday and will continue till June 10th.

Delegations from several foreign and Arab countries are taking part in the festival, which is held at al-Bassel Part in the city of Tartous.
