Damascus, SANA-Assistant Minister of Social Affairs Wael al-Badin discussed with members of a Russian delegation currently visiting Syria the Syrian-Russian relations in relief aid and the effects of the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
During his meeting with Member of the Russian Federation Council’s Defense and Security Committee Dmitry Sablin, al-Badin said the ministry continues to exert intensive efforts to meet the needs of citizens affected by terrorism which has spawned numerous tragedies, mainly displacing citizens from their villages and cities.
Co-Chairman of the Russian Committee for Solidarity with the Syrian people Oleg Fomin highlighted the deep friendship relations between Russia and Syria, indicating that the delegation’s visit is meant to show support for the Syrian people during the crisis and the tough times they are passing through.
Commenting on bilateral cooperation between the two countries in relief efforts, Fomin told SANA that the Russian relief organizations continue to provide food and medical aid for terrorism-stricken families in Syria, citing the efforts of RusSAR Charity in this regard.
The delegation members include Russian parliamentarians, representatives from the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, members of the Russian Committee for solidarity with Syria and Russian figures.
